In Malano di Avigliana village - locality Il Ghetto - the location of the "Statio ad fines," a place for collecting the Quadragesima Galliarum, has been identified based on literary sources and mostly occasional archaeological excavations.
Since 1858, the year Father Bacco began his research with the first discoveries, a whole series of hypotheses have followed, which to this day have not yet found confirmation: first of all, the extent of the "Statio"; for years it was thought that its location was south of the SS. 24, until, in 1998 during the construction of sidewalks along the same road and in 2003 during the renovation of a building in the locality "Il Ghetto," important wall remains emerged, including ceramic material, which rekindled not only the keen interest of the Superintendency for Archaeological Heritage of Piedmont on the location of the "Statio" itself, but also the attention of the Aviglianese Municipal Administration, which, with a view to a general project of enhancing the area, purchased a building and related appurtenances.
