17th edition of "Chantar l'Uvèrn - From Candlemas to May 1st, Fragments of Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French Language and Culture": the cultural festival that showcases original creations and promotes the Occitan, Franco-Provençal, and French language and culture through a rich and comprehensive regional program featuring musical, theatrical, anthropological, documentary, and environmental events.
The cultural program involves 30 municipalities in the Susa Valley, Sangone Valley, Chisone Valley, and Germanasca Valley.
The rich program of events is the result of extensive collaboration with the many municipalities: Avigliana, Bardonecchia, Bussoleno, Cesana Torinese, Chianocco, Chiomonte, Claviere, Coazze, Condove, Exilles, Fenestrelle, Giaglione, Giaveno, Gravere, Massello, Mattie, Meana di Susa, Mompantero, Moncenisio, Oulx, Pragelato, San Giorio di Susa, Sant’Antonino di Susa, Sauze d’Oulx, Sauze di Cesana, Sestriere, Susa, Usseaux, Vaie, and Villar Focchiardo.
Bussoleno hosts the opening event on Sunday, February 1st, at 3:00 PM, at the multipurpose center with the TSANT’AN TSAMIN project. The event will launch the festival, with the return of the TSANT’AN TSAMIN anthology to the local area, followed by a singing workshop. The festival will conclude in the late afternoon with music and dance by the Blu l’Azard group. Throughout the month of February, the events will continue in Coazze, Gravere, Fenestrelle, San Giorio di Susa, Sauze di Cesana, Sauze d’Oulx, and Giaglione, with a particularly significant stop in Salbertrand.
This is where the event dedicated to International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by UNESCO, will take place. On the afternoon of Saturday, February 21st, at the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Natural Park, a meeting entirely dedicated to "Feminine Poetry in the Occitan Valleys" will take place. Participants will include Renato Sibille, author of "Èsse soun mèitre: An Anthology of Occitan Writings from the Upper Susa Valley," and Rosella Pellegrini, director of Espaci Occitan, who will present the second volume of "Anthology of Female Poetry in Occitan Lenga," edited by Paulina Kamakine and Rosella Pellerino. The afternoon concludes with Matteo Rivoira of the University of Turin, who, together with Miriam Lerda of the University of Grenoble, will present the talk "Poetic Paths in the Occitan Valleys: Research Perspectives." Musical entertainment by the duo Marzia Rey and Flavio Giacchero rounds out the day's program.
The series concludes on May 2nd with two final events: a musical performance in Moncenisio and a presentation of the latest collection of the Colombano Romean Ecomuseum in Exilles.
