Frazione Rochemolles, 10052 Bardonecchia

The parish church of Rochemolles is mentioned in documents as early as 1296, but its current structure is the result of a complete reconstruction carried out between 1452 and 1456.

It features a single nave with the choir and a lateral chapel on the southern side, ending in a presbytery with ribbed vaults. The bell tower, curiously "truncated," was originally built in the Delphinal Romanesque style, but an avalanche that struck the village in 1749 completely removed its spires, which were never rebuilt.

Recently restored, the church boasts numerous valuable elements inside: the triumphal arch hosts a splendid Annunciation, created at the end of the 15th century by the so-called Master of Coignet and Ramats, while the chapel of Saint Sebastian, located to the right of the entrance, is decorated with scenes from the life and martyrdom of the saint, attributed to the Master of Savoulx and probably made in the early decades of the 16th century.

The wooden elements are also significant, including a superb coffered ceiling decorated with painted stars from the late 15th century, and the gallery built in 1758, possibly reusing some 16th-century elements.

Noteworthy furnishings include the carved lectern from 1621 and two early 18th-century paintings by Laurent Dufour of Saint Michel de Maurienne.

Also in the Rochemolles valley, about a 30-minute walk from the village, the rural pillar of Pra Lavin is notable, decorated with early 16th-century frescoes.
