Avigliana

On the occasion of the traditional Agricultural Fair in Drubiaglio on Saturday, November 7, the Avigliana Archaeological Association (A3) invites residents and visitors to discover the area’s ancient history and the latest findings from recent archaeological research.
The A3 Association will have a stand in the parking lot of the Anna Frank School, where visitors can learn about the association’s activities and its key projects focused on the research, preservation, and promotion of the archaeological heritage of Avigliana and the Susa Valley.
A special highlight will be the extraordinary opening of the *Statio ad Fines* archaeological site—an ancient Roman-era settlement located in Drubiaglio, situated along one of the primary routes connecting the Po Valley to the Alps.
During the visits, A3 archaeologists will guide participants through the ancient structures, sharing new insights from recent excavation campaigns and discussing future research prospects—including the use of innovative technologies to study the ancient landscape.
At 3:00 PM, during the official welcome by local authorities, there will also be an opportunity to celebrate the success of the "FIRST LEGO League" project (the "Unearthed" edition). This initiative was developed by the A3 Association in collaboration with students and teachers from the Rita Levi Montalcini Comprehensive Institute (covering Rosta and Buttigliera Alta), the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Turin, and the Royal Museums of Turin. Schedule for special visits to the *Statio ad Fines* (reservations: archeologia.aviglianese@gmail.com):
• Morning: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Afternoon (awards ceremony and visit): 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

An opportunity to rediscover the historical roots of Drubiaglio and explore, up close, an archaeological heritage that continues to reveal new evidence of the past.
