On Friday, July 11 Unveiled Susa – Tales and Shadows in the Moonlight, the series of theatrical guided tours to discover the historic center of Susa, conceived and curated by the Artemide Association, the management body of the Castle of Countess Adelaide. This third stage will be dedicated to the theme “Marriage and Power”, and will lead the public on a journey through history, architecture and theatrical narration.
The leitmotif of the evening will be the figure of Oddone of Savoy, third husband of Countess Adelaide. The story will focus on the role of marital unions as a political instrument in the Middle Ages, offering a look at the fragmentation of powers and the administrative complexity that characterized an urban reality like Susa in the middle of the 11th century.
The tour will take place in two shifts:
- “Susa al Tramonto” shift (5:30–8:00 p.m.): guided tour and aperitif at the Castle
- “Susa Svelata” shift (8:00–11:20 p.m.): aperitif at sunset and tour through the streets of the city center.
New to this edition is the possibility of accessing two historic bell towers of the city: the bell tower of San Giusto and the bell tower of Santa Maria Maggiore.
