On the occasion of the 2026 European Heritage Days, dedicated to the theme "Archaeology in Progress," Susa Unveiled, the evening guided tours of the historic center of Susa, enriched by theatrical performances, offer a special event on Sunday, June 14: "The Wonders of Segusio," an evening dedicated to the city's ongoing construction sites and the discoveries that are rewriting the history of ancient Segusio.
The tour, starting at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM from the courtyard of Adelaide Castle, will wind for approximately an hour and a half through three locations usually inaccessible to the public: the excavations of the praetorium; the Adelaide Castle storerooms, where the materials discovered during the recent restoration of the Civic Theater will be presented, including fragments of plaster painted with floral motifs from the so-called "Domus delle Rose"; and the Cathedral of San Giusto, whose restoration site will be exceptionally open, with a visit to the crypt.
On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the tour will be enriched by the special presence of officials from the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the Metropolitan City of Turin. The Museum's scientific staff will guide the public through the excavations of the praetorium and the storage rooms containing fragments of the Domus delle Rose, while Dr. Rocchietti, an official from the Superintendency, will present the latest findings from the excavations of the Cathedral crypt.
The tours between the sites will be animated by actors from the DDT—Disagiata Distilleria Teatrale—company, who have supported the Susa Svelata project since its inception with narrative interventions that bring the sites they visit to life and speak.
Starting at 7:00 pm, visitors can enjoy an aperitif featuring local products in the Museum's conference room.
