Guided tours of the Roman villas of Almese and Caselette and the Primavalle Area are back in full swing this year, with a packed schedule starting in April and running until the end of October!
The tours, led by an archaeologist supported by our volunteers, offer an immersive experience of archaeology to learn about the history and culture of the Roman era in the Susa Valley. The villas, dating back to around the 1st century AD, are among the most important Roman-era suburban residential complexes in Piedmont.
Located on the slopes of Mount Musinè, the Primavalle Area is home to numerous nationally and regionally rare animal and plant species, making it one of Piedmont's most biodiverse areas. A true "xerothermic oasis" that also includes the Upper and Lower Caselette Lakes.
The guided tours are organized by the Ar.c.A. association. (Art, Archaeology, and Culture in Almese) under the patronage of the Municipality of Almese and the Municipality of Caselette, in collaboration with the Magnetto Foundation, Finder S.p.A., Univoca, Tesori d'arte e cultura alpina, and the Archaeological, Fine Arts, and Landscape Superintendence for the Metropolitan City of Turin.
