On Sunday, February 1 at 11:00 am in Chiomonte, G.A. Levis art gallery, on the occasion of the exhibition "Treetops and Table Legs," a thematic tour "Jacopo Rinaldi and G.A. Levis, Artists in Dialogue a Century Away."
The temporary exhibition "Treetops and Table Legs" by Jacopo Rinaldi is the result of an artist-in-residence program. Drawing on material cultural objects preserved in ethnographic museums and inspired by the festivals and rituals, both past and present, of the Susa Valley, Rinaldi has created a series of works that integrate artisanal tradition with an exploration of archetypal form. Rinaldi traces rotation to a recurring principle in local craftsmanship: from the hand-spinning spindle to the spinning top, passing through dancing spindles (such as the Pouento di Chiomonte), conifer tops used in tree rituals and religious processions from ancient times to the present. The wooden sculptures on display become essential forms, connecting past and present, ritual and play, technique and narrative.
