The evocative itinerary among abbeys, monasteries, and historic parish churches is a distinctive feature of the Susa Valley.
Since the Middle Ages, in fact, the culture and very life of the Valsusino territory have been shaped by their influence.
Alongside the three large Benedictine monasteries, you can discover Augustinian presences at the Prevostura of San Lorenzo in Oulx and Santa Maria del Moncenisio, Carthusian ones in Montebenedetto and Banda, and Franciscan ones in Susa and Avigliana.
