The Due Laghi Jazz Festival reaches its 33rd edition, relaunching the program begun in 1994, faithful to its successful formula based on showcasing rising stars, young talents, and established figures on the international jazz scene.
This year's edition will be divided into three phases. The preview on Friday, July 10th, will feature the opening concert in Condove, featuring vocalist Mafalda Minnozzi accompanied by New Yorker Paul Ricci on guitar. This will be followed on Saturday the 11th in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino by Lorenzo Simoni's quartet, featuring Bostonian trumpeter Jason Palmer. The concert will be preceded by the city preview "...waiting for jazz...", with a visit to the new Mario Giansone Museum, which houses the artist's visual works dedicated to jazz. Jazz is the only music in which the same note can be played night after night, but in a different way each time.
The main stage in Piazza Conte Rosso in Avigliana, which will present on Thursday, July 23, the European sextet of the amazing Washington vocalist Lori Williams, joined by Bernhard Wiesinger, Renato Chicco, Christian Havel, Milan Nikolic and Joris Dudli. On Friday, July 24, Luigi Tessarollo's New sextet will take the stage, with Fulvio Chiara, Gledison Zabote, Stefano Calcagno, Paul Zogno and Francesco Parodi. Another great American vocalist, Sylvia Howard, will close the Main Stage concerts on Saturday, July 25, together with Fulvio Albano, accompanied by the Tony Match trio, Tony Match, Sergio Di Gennaro and Alessandro Maiorino. The festival's closing concert on Sunday, July 26th, will return to the charming location of the Villa Romana in Almese, featuring the special appearance of Detroit saxophonist Rick Margitza, accompanied by the trio of pianist Roberto Tarenzi, along with Dario Deidda and Roberto Pistolesi.
