Avigliana

Music that moves, tells stories, and creates profound connections will be the focus of the opening of the second half of the 2026 Cultural Season.
On Tuesday, June 30th, at 4:30 PM, in the historic setting of the church of Santa Maria in Borgo Vecchio, the Vita e Pace Association invites you to the concert "A corde tese," featuring the duo of Maurizio Mastrini and Antony Guerrini, who will deliver an intense and captivating performance.
The event represents a special opportunity to meet one of the most original Italian artists on the contemporary piano scene. Maurizio Mastrini, a composer and pianist known internationally for his personal style and ability to transform every performance into an emotional journey, continues to captivate audiences with music that transcends the boundaries between classical, contemporary, minimalism, and cinematic sounds.
The Maestro recently returned to the stage with a particularly significant project. On April 21, 2026, the new single "Tango Clandestino" was released, a song dedicated to Pope Francis on the first anniversary of his passing. The work was born from the desire
to pay homage to a figure who has left a profound mark on the global collective consciousness, through a composition capable of translating values such as humanity, dialogue, solidarity, and hope into music.
As the title suggests, "Tango Clandestino" intertwines the expressive and passionate power of Argentine tango with more intimate and introspective atmospheres. The result is an elegant and intense composition, alternating emotional outbursts with moments of reflection, leading the listener into an almost spiritual dimension.
The first public performance of the piece took place in the evocative Church of Santa Caterina in Assisi, a city that symbolizes peace and spirituality. This choice was significant, but it helped reinforce the composition's universal message and its powerful evocative power.

During the concert, the Santa Maria audience will have the opportunity to listen to some of the most iconic tracks from the album "Capelli," a recording that confirms Mastrini's ongoing artistic research and his ability to transform memories, encounters, and emotions into music.
The album offers a sonic journey rich in images and inspirations.
Among the most significant tracks is "El Toque," dedicated to football legend Diego Armando Maradona, a tribute to a figure capable of uniting peoples and generations through his extraordinary talent. There are also romantic and international atmospheres such as "Paris c'est l'amour," as well as references to the great European musical tradition in "Monsieur Satie," a composition that recalls the elegance and refined simplicity of the famous French composer.
The musical journey continues with the jazz nuances of "No Smoking," characterized by engaging rhythms and modern sounds, leading to the more intimate and contemplative moments of "Aria" and "Lacrima," songs that showcase the artist's compositional sensibility.
"Capelli" also represents the heart of the Capelli International Tour 2026, the tour that is taking Maurizio Mastrini to major theaters, festivals, and cultural venues in Europe and around the world. This artistic journey spans a wide variety of settings: from grand concert halls to sacred sites, to spaces immersed in nature—environments that have always influenced and inspired his creativity.
The "A corde tese" concert will therefore offer much more than a simple musical performance... it will be an experience capable of engaging the audience in a direct dialogue with their emotions, through compositions that tell stories, evoke images, and speak a universal language.
An event dedicated to those who love music that can surprise, excite, and leave a mark on the hearts of those who listen.
Furthermore, until September 2026, the Vita e Pace Cultural Center is hosting the exhibition "Il silenzio dei ritratti," a collection of works by six contemporary artists. A journey through perspectives, emotions, and reflections, it invites the audience to explore the theme through different expressive languages and sensibilities.
