On Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th, two free events will be held at the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Borgo Vecchio, Vicolo Santa Maria, in Avigliana.
Saturday, May 16th, at 6:00 PM, the concert "The Soul of Bach in the Voice of Chopin" - Preview of the 13th Mendelssohn Festival - Gabriele Braga, piano. The musical performance offers an intense dialogue between the Baroque rigor of Johann Sebastian Bach and the Romantic lyricism of Frédéric Chopin, in a sonic journey that highlights the continuities and contrasts between two fundamental eras in the history of music.
The show is part of the "People, Characters, and Personalities" series, curated by the Vita e Pace Cultural Center.
Sunday, May 17th, at 4:30 PM - "ITER VOCIS" - Itineraries of Sound - Organized by the Piedmontese Choirs Association. The festival was created with the aim of fostering dialogue between the various choral groups in the region (Cumbavianae Chorus; Schola Gregoriana Misericordiae; Coro Alpino "Il Quadrifoglio"), offering not only a concert but also an opportunity for sharing and exchange between participants and the audience.
The program includes an initial welcome and introduction, followed by performances by the participating choirs, who will alternate presenting their repertoire. The audience will thus have the opportunity to appreciate an eloquent variety of styles and sounds, an expression of the richness of the Piedmontese choral tradition.
