The Ara, Arte, restauro, archeologia association is opening a new green area at the foot of Avigliana Castle, beneath the castle square on Via Norberto Rosa, which houses the simulated archaeological site. The initiative has received the patronage of the Municipality of Avigliana and will be open to the public on five dates: Saturday, May 16th at 2:30 pm, Sunday, June 21st at 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 19th at 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 20th at 2:30 pm, and Saturday, October 3rd at 3:00 pm.
An Ara archaeologist will be waiting for participants at the foot of the castle for the archaeological excavation practice sessions. The site, renovated last year, holds numerous surprises, as multiple excavation contexts are possible and artifacts of various types and materials are present. This allows participants to reconstruct history and, above all, truly discover the profession of archaeologist. The contribution is €7 per person, which includes gloves and equipment provided by the association. Participants ages 5 and up are advised to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
For information, visit Ara's Facebook page and Instagram profile and book by WhatsApping 3339220874, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Saturday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
