Salbertrand

On Saturday, March 21st, at 4:00 PM in Salbertrand, at the Gran Bosco Natural Park and Colombano Romean Ecomuseum at Via Fransuà Fontan 1, there will be a presentation of the book "Historic Mills of Piedmont," edited by Marianna Sasanelli and Emanuela Genre of the Italian Association of Historic Mills, Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta Section.

A book to discover the stories, uniqueness, and traditions of Piedmont through unique testimonies: the mills.
The development of the art of milling was one of the most significant moments in the development of Western civilization. The creation of a mill has always brought with it social, economic, political, and technological interests, and even today the mill, whether water- or wind-powered, remains a fundamentally important technological invention, which has evolved over time to be used in a wide variety of contexts: from grinding to mineral processing, from sawmills to olive presses.
Retracing the history of Piedmont's mills means rediscovering stories and traditions that, until now, have seemed of secondary importance to most, but which in reality were fundamental parts of a broader historical process and the formation of our region's identity. A different guide, an original interpretation for discovering the history and traditions of Piedmont, from the outskirts of Turin to the Canavese area, from the Cuneo area to the Ossola region, from the Pinerolo area to the Vercelli area, from the Valsesia to the Susa Valley, from the Sangone Valley to the Novara area to the Chieri hills.
