The Col forge is situated along the course of the deviation channel of the Gravio stream, along which numerous proto-industrial activities arose in past centuries.
Probably, already in medieval times, in what was known as the al batore area, there was a small workshop for hemp beating.
Transformed into a forge for ironworking between the late 18th and early 19th century, the entire structure was acquired by Celestino Col. The year was 1879.
For over 100 years, the productive activity and tradition were carried on by the Col family, who, working hard and gaining ever more experience, supplied Condove's mountains (and beyond) with all the tools they needed.
Thanks to the demanding work of conservation and maintenance, it is as if the forge has never ceased to function. Today, its interiors are preserved as they appeared in the past, along with the installations, tools, machines, and implements, as a testament to how blacksmiths once carried out their hard work and how their families lived.
