A day dedicated to mountain flavors and traditions. On Sunday, September 20th, the "Mountain Potato Festival" (*Sagra della Patata di Montagna*) returns to the heart of Sauze d’Oulx. This event celebrates the many varieties of the delicious, authentic mountain potato, featuring special menus at local establishments, roving musical entertainment by "Equipe du Folk," and an autumn market.
The star of the show is the Sauze d’Oulx Municipal "De.Co." Mountain Potato—a local specialty—taking center stage in a day that combines gastronomy, local produce, and the celebration of Alpine traditions.
The event will be enlivened by the roving musical performances of the group "Equipe du Folk," playing throughout the town's historic center. It is a wonderful opportunity to stroll through the village, discover local sights, and purchase Sauze d’Oulx potatoes alongside other regional specialties.
As in recent years, the festival features a culinary tour across participating restaurants, offering dishes based on potatoes and traditional ingredients.
The culinary tour begins at Piazza Assietta; at the "Pubblica Assistenza" (Public Assistance) gazebo, participants receive a voucher for the food and wine trail, along with a small bottle of water and a wine glass.
The first stop is the "Assietta" restaurant for *Tartiflette*. The second stop is at the K2 restaurant for potato gnocchi with alpine *toma* cheese or arugula pesto. The third stop features *Raclette* at the "Babaiaga" restaurant. To conclude the culinary journey, there is a dessert: an artisanal tartlet prepared by the "Gally" or "Valsesia" pastry shops.
Wine tastings will be available in Piazza Assietta and along the tour route. Menu prices remain unchanged from previous years: the adult menu is set at €23 until 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 19 (rising to €25 on the day of the festival at the *Pubblica Assistenza* gazebo in Piazza Assietta), while the children's menu—consisting this year of gnocchi from the K2 restaurant, a small tart from the Gally or Valsesia pastry shops, and half a liter of water—is priced at €12 for children up to 10 years of age.
Advance tickets are available until 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 19, at the Tourist Office on Viale Genevris (Tel: 0122858009; Email: info.sauze@turismotorino.org). On the day of the event, vouchers will be available at the *Pubblica Assistenza* gazebo.
The Mountain Potato Festival is organized by the Municipality of Sauze d’Oulx in collaboration with the Fortur Consortium, with the aim of showcasing local produce and offering residents and visitors a day to discover mountain flavors and traditions.
