On Sunday, September 13, at 4:30 PM, in the church of Santa Maria in Borgo Vecchio, the Vita e Pace association presents a concert by young pianist Matteo Sperti, entitled "Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff": a musical journey into the heart of Russian Romantic sensibility, amidst emotions, images, and atmospheres entrusted to the voice of the piano.
The program will open with an excerpt from Tchaikovsky's The Seasons: a collection in which music becomes the medium for narrating the succession of the months of the year and, through them, nature, its colors, and the sensations it evokes in the human soul. The notes thus evoke landscapes, moods, impressions, and memories, offering the listener an experience capable of going beyond simply listening to music.
Afterwards, Matteo Sperti will perform Rachmaninoff's Six Musical Moments, six compositions profoundly different in character, rhythm, and atmosphere. Each piece stems from a particular
creative impulse and contains its own emotional story: from delicacy to passion, from melancholy to intensity, in a journey that highlights the full expressive richness of this composer's music.
The musical event will therefore be an opportunity to get closer to two great protagonists of Russian Romanticism through music that speaks to everyone, even those who don't regularly frequent concert halls.
