SportRoccia in Bardonecchia

From July 3rd to 5th at the Palazzetto dello Sport – Valle Stretta Parete dei Militi – Cinema Sabrina SportRoccia: three days of climbing, outdoor culture, and history, in the places where sport climbing was born.

In 1985, on the Parete dei Militi in Valle Stretta, a visionary intuition by Emanuele Cassarà and Andrea Mellano gave birth to SportRoccia.
It wasn't just a competition: it was the beginning of a new way of experiencing climbing. At first, it was adventure, exploration, a personal challenge against the wall. Then, in 1985, thanks to the dream of two visionaries, climbing entered a new dimension, becoming a competition, a spectacle, a discipline.
From that wall in Valle Stretta, sport climbing was born, destined to reach the Olympic Games less than forty years later.

SportRoccia Kids: the first steps in the world of climbing
SportRoccia is not just an event for athletes and enthusiasts: it is also an opportunity designed to introduce children to the world of climbing in a safe, fun, and engaging way.
Over the weekend, children and teens can experience the thrill of climbing under the supervision of certified Alpine Guides, choosing from a variety of experiences: the Bardo Boulder Contest on Saturday, with specially designed boulders and the chance to try indoor climbing at the Cubo, or Sunday at the Parete dei Militi, where they can get their hands on real rock, right in the place where SportRoccia was born.
Families can register their children for one day or both, creating a complete experience of play, sport, nature, and discovery.
A way to help young children experience climbing not just as a sport, but as adventure, confidence, movement, and connection with the mountains.

Workshop dedicated to managing the fear of falling while climbing. Marta Carminati will lead the theoretical part, while the practical part will be supervised by certified Alpine Guides. Open to all levels.
