Avigliana
The Avigliana Insieme concert series is scheduled for Sunday, July 19th, at 4:30 pm, in the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, in the Borgo Vecchio district of Avigliana.
The concert, entitled "OPPOSITE PROPOSTE," will take the audience on a fascinating journey from classical music to pop-rock, comparing musical languages that are diverse yet share the same expressive power. Opening the afternoon will be pianist Domenica Laura Brunetta, a highly experienced artist well-known to fans of the series. In past editions of Avigliana Insieme, she has been applauded several times both as a soloist and as an accompanist for singers, violinists, and multi-instrumentalist Nino Carriglio, who will perform the concert dedicated to El Cóndor Pasa in the 2025 season. For this concert, Brunetta has chosen to pay homage to Franz Schubert, one of the greatest exponents of Romantic music. She will perform Schubert's Sonata in A major, Op. 120, in the Allegro moderato, Andante, and Allegro movements, followed by a selection of the famous Impromptus, among the most beloved pieces in the piano repertoire for their lyrical intensity and extraordinary elegance. The second part of the concert will be dedicated to contemporary music with the Vik Project, a duo consisting of singer Viktoria Dubrovina and guitarist Edoardo Arrowood. The two musicians will perform original pieces, composed in recent years, in which pop-rock language intertwines with intense and engaging lyrics, capable of expressing emotions, experiences, and current issues.
