Sunday, March 8th at 5:00 pm in Vaie, in the Sala Specchi on Via Forno, the musical theater performance "Masquë en dansa" with Ugo Ala and the Mezzenile choir.
A magical journey through the Lanzo Valleys and the Franco-Provençal and Occitan lands: dances, ballads, and ancient tales intertwine with Ugo Ala's original music. An experience of tradition and enchantment, accompanied by the masquës and countës dedicated to them.
The musical project conceived by maestro Ugo Ala takes us on a journey through the wonders of some of our Alpine valleys, the Valli di Lanzo. Guided by Count Luigi Francesetti, we rediscover the ancient traditions of the countës—folk tales passed down from generation to generation—through original melodies and ballads, inspired by the typical sounds of the Franco-Provençal musical world.
At the heart of the project is the figure of the masquë, an essential element of the oral tradition of our valleys, whose echo still resonates today in the language and daily life of our local communities, including through new pieces played and songs in the Franco-Provençal language.
Music, spoken word, and dance thus merge in an immersive experience that invites us to rediscover the charm and vitality of an ancient, yet still surprisingly vibrant, world.
