The FAI Spring Days return on Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd. This major national event, promoted by the FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Italian National Trust), annually invites residents and visitors to rediscover the country's cultural and landscape heritage through special openings and guided tours.
For the 34th edition, the FAI Valle di Susa Delegation and the FAI Youth Group are offering a special itinerary in the heart of Avigliana, featuring five exceptionally visitable sites that tell the story of the city, including spirituality, historic architecture, civic institutions, and industrial innovation.
The initiative features FAI volunteers and "Apprentice Ciceroni," students from the Norberto Rosa High School in Bussoleno, who will accompany the public on a discovery of the sites open for the occasion, transforming the visit into an experience of learning and active participation.
Places to Visit
During the weekend, five sites representative of Avigliana's history and identity will be open to visitors.
These include the Oratorio del Gesù, a small spiritual gem tied to the city's religious tradition, and Casa Cantamerlo, a private residence steeped in history that has hosted illustrious figures over time, including Vittorio Emanuele III in 1938.
The Palazzo Comunale, overlooking the historic Piazza Conte Rosso, will showcase the city's institutional side. Visitors can also visit the Civic Tower, the council chamber, and the mayor's office.
The social dimension will also be explored with the Scuola Picco, a 19th-century building tied to the community's educational history and recently enhanced thanks to a project supported by the Paolo Vitelli Foundation.
Finally, among the most anticipated openings is that of Azimut Yachts, a company normally closed to the public. Here, FAI-registered visitors will be able to enter the heart of the production facility and experience firsthand the construction of internationally prestigious yachts, an example of industrial excellence combining advanced technology and masterful craftsmanship.
