On Sunday, December 21 at 09:00 pm at the parish church in Almese Christmas music, the traditional Christmas event with the "Mater Ecclesiae" polyphonic choir.
The choir will be directed by Silvano Bertolo and accompanied by organist Paolo Giacone. Performers will include sopranos Rita La Vecchia and Lyudmyla Porvatova, contraltos Angelica Buzzolan and Roberta Garelli, all members of the Teatro Regio di Torino Chorus, soprano Sherrie Anne Grieve, tenor Simone Giorda, and bass Marzio Ferrero.
The "Canavèisanbrass" brass quartet, consisting of RAI National Symphony Orchestra members Ercole Ceretta and Alessandro Caruana on trumpet, and Antonello Mazzucco on trombone, will also be present. They will be joined by Riccardo Ceretta of the Teatro Regio di Torino on bass trombone.
The program will feature a wide selection of songs, from traditional Anglo-Saxon Christmas carols to music by Charpentier, Pitoni, Daquin, Jenkins, Handel, Nehls, Rutter, and others. In particular, excerpts from Handel's Messiah (including Halleluiah) will be performed, as well as Adam's celebrated Cantique de Noël.
