On Monday, December 23 at 09:00 pm at the parish church the traditional Christmas event with the polyphonic choir “Mater Ecclesiae”, directed by Silvano Bertolo and accompanied by the organist Paolo Giacone.
The sopranos Rita La Vecchia and Lyudmyla Porvatova, the contraltos Angelica Buzzolan and Roberta Garelli, the tenor Alejandro Escobar, all artists of the Choir of the Teatro Regio of Turin, the soprano Sherrie Anne Grieve and the baritones Simone Giorda and Marzio Ferrero will participate.
The brass quartet “Canavèisanbrass” will also be present, formed by the instrumentalists of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Ercole Ceretta and Alessandro Caruana on trumpet, Antonello Mazzucco on bass trombone, who will be joined by Remy Vair Piova on trombone.
The program will offer a wide selection of pieces, ranging from Christmas Carols of the Anglo-Saxon tradition to music by Mendelssohn, Handel, Saint-Saëns, Rachmaninov, Leontovich, Widor, Guilmant, Rutter, Morricone and Adam. In particular, the opening chorus from the cantata Lobgesang by Mendelssohn will be performed, some excerpts from the Oratorio de Noël by Saint-Saëns, as well as the very famous Cantique de Noël by Adam.
