The 2026–2027 season at Casa Aschieri in Bussoleno kicks off on Friday, September 25, at 9:00 PM with the performance *Padre e figlio* (Father and Son). The show centers on the life of Pietro di Bernardone—a quintessential representative of the medieval merchant class—whose world shatters when his only son decides not to follow in his footsteps, choosing instead a life of poverty and contemplation.

Marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the event offers an opportunity to explore family ties—between legitimate and illegitimate children, and between firstborns and younger sons—and to re-examine the often-overlooked story of the "Poor Man of Assisi's" own family.
