Camosci Sound, the music festival held in the natural setting of Lago dei Camosci, returns for its third edition. It takes place on the large meadow overlooking the lake, at the foot of the rocky face of Monte Pirchiriano and the Sacra di San Michele. Two days, Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd, are dedicated to singer-songwriter music and its freest, most experimental, and contemporary evolutions.
The program features two superb bands of Italian alternative music and a selection of new-generation songwriters with profound and lateral writing styles. The stars of the evening on Saturday, August 2nd will be Quintorigo & John De Leo. The band is reuniting with its original lineup, twenty-five years after the release of Rospo, to revisit its inimitable alchemical formula, centered on angular arrangements guided by John De Leo's instrumental voice. The event opens at 6 pm with a live set by Sasso, the solo project of Turin-born Anthony Sasso, featuring psychedelia, analog sounds, and a punk attitude. At 8 pm, Carlotta Sillano, pianist and singer-songwriter, creator of poetic, dark, electronic chamber folk, will present her album Nella natura vuoto dei simboli appassiti with a quartet.
On Sunday, August 3, the afternoon opens with the spiritual folk influences of Adele H, a singer and pianist from Bergamo. This will be followed by a live performance by Gaia Banfi, born in 1998, musician and producer, creator of electronic and contemporary songwriting, who will present her latest album, La Maccaia, live. The two-day event will conclude with a live performance by Mariposa, a cult Bolognese collective that for over twenty years has blended avant-garde, experimentation, nonsense, and psychedelia into a free and theatrical form of music, a laboratory and hotbed of talent on the Italian music scene.
The concerts by Quintorigo & John De Leo and Mariposa will be preceded by two live interviews conducted by Enrico Deregibus, music journalist and cultural operator.
Camosci Sound is a project of the S.T.A.R. Cultural Association, with the patronage of the Piedmont Regional Council, the Metropolitan City of Turin, and the Municipality of Sant’Ambrogio di Torino. Artistic direction is by Carlotta Sillano, with consultancy by Enrico Deregibus.
The festival takes place in the natural setting of Lago dei Camosci, in Sant’Ambrogio di Torino, a cultural space in the lower valley accessible by train, car, or bicycle, and equipped with a refreshment area and the possibility of overnight stays in tents. Season ticket and single-day tickets are available on the website www.camoscisound.it.
