The Healing Walk: From Witch Physics to Modern Medicine.
A nature walk to discover witch medicine and other curiosities.
Starting from the narration of the history of the Tower and the Ricetto of San Mauro in the Rivera hamlet, we will take a leap back in time of more than 1000 years, when witchcraft was still the master in the cure of the ailments that afflicted the population.
We will move to the center of Almese where you can still visit the house where Scipione Riva Rocci lived, the doctor who more than 150 years ago invented the mercury sphygmomanometer, an instrument still in use today to measure blood pressure, a symbol of modern medicine. From here we will go up to the Sanctuary of Maria Madre della Chiesa and discover some traces of the fascist era that are still very present.
Meeting at 04:00 pm in Almese at the parking of the Tower and the Ricetto of San Mauro.
Required reservations.
