Clouds is a show that tells two true stories and a fairy tale about nature and its relationship with humanity. It tells of landscapes and passages, like clouds. The fairy tale "Fiocco di nube," a powerful metaphor by the revolutionary Subcomandante Marcos, is a story that speaks to children and adults about the regenerative power of nature.
The story of Pertus by Colombano Romean, five hundred years after the beginning of that incredible adventure, tells new generations that man can accomplish extraordinary feats even without superpowers, thanks only to his willpower and ingenuity. This is what the stonemason from Chiomonte did, who, in seven years, dug a tunnel almost five hundred meters long and about one meter wide, all by himself, with his chisel, to channel the waters of a stream from one side of the mountain to the other.
The third story is also true. A tale from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
It tells of men who, with large sleds on their shoulders, went to collect blocks of ice from the "perennial" (and now extinct) Galambra glacier, at an altitude of 3,060 meters, and carried them down to 1,007 meters. On sleds, with the help of ropes and their hands.
Again, they weren't superheroes or super-muscled athletes, but ordinary people.
With nerves of steel, that's for sure.
