The exhibition “Luciano Spessot: The Legacy of Silence, Transparencies of the Everyday” is currently on display in the exhibition space of the ancient Romanesque church of San Rocco on Via Battisti in Condove.
The opening takes place on Sunday, October 4th, at 5:00 PM.
Through a technical virtuosity that evokes Flemish analytical precision and Baroque-style chiaroscuro, Spessot transforms the traditional genres of still life, rural landscape, and studio interiors into a profound conceptual exploration of time, memory, and matter.
The exhibition layout coherently interweaves the various facets of the artist’s work, turning the painted surface into a space for historiographical reflection; here, references to the great masters of the past coexist with the everyday tools of the workshop, taking on the significance of a meta-artistic statement on the act of creating art. This intellectual tension extends to the depiction of nature and objects: botanical and fruit compositions transcend mere decoration through visual juxtapositions—where plastic elements and contemporary details revitalize the archetype of the classical still life—while rural scenes and animal subjects are imbued with an intense spiritual aura, grounding the sense of the sacred and meditative contemplation within the humility of daily life.
The setting of the Church of San Rocco enhances the sense of suspended time characteristic of Spessot’s work, offering visitors an experience of analytical contemplation.
Visiting hours: until October 25, Wednesdays 10-12; Fridays 16-18; Saturdays and Sundays 10-12 - 16-18.
Free admission.
