Health prevention through sport in Avigliana

The Sports Department of the Municipality of Avigliana is organizing an event titled “Health Prevention Through Sport,” scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the municipal sports facilities located at Via Giovanni Suppo 4. The event is coordinated by *Educational Tennis Parkinson* in collaboration with the *Sportherapy Academy*, the National Sport Climbing School (*Scuola Nazionale Arrampicata Sportiva*), the Vallesusa-Pinerolo delegation of the Italian Bocce Federation (FIB), the *ASD Arcieri Conte Rosso* (archery club), and the *Pinerolo-Luserna Walking Football* association.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about using sport as a tool to improve health and achieve complete physical and mental well-being. Designed to be fully inclusive, the event is open both to healthy individuals and those living with medical conditions. All participants will have the opportunity to try out various sports disciplines for free, under the guidance of instructors from the participating associations.

Throughout the eight-hour event, five sports associations will host trial stations and be available to the public.
Featured activities include *Educational Tennis Parkinson*—the first adapted tennis program specifically designed for individuals in the early to intermediate stages of Parkinson’s disease, created by coach Gianni Zullo and recognized by the organization *Sport e Salute*—as well as Nordic walking sessions offered by the *Sportherapy Academy* (open to anyone interested in becoming a member). Participants can also try their hand at rock climbing, thanks to the National Sport Climbing School (SNAR), which will set up a 2.5-meter mobile climbing wall. Additionally, the Italian Bocce Federation (FIB) — Vallesusa-Pinerolo delegation — will provide opportunities to play *bocce* (including inclusive *bocce*), with courses specifically tailored for individuals with medical conditions. Archery taster sessions will be run by the ASD Arcieri Conte Rosso. Finally, there will be an opportunity to try walking football—an experiential activity promoted by the Pinerolo-Luserna Walking Football association.
