The Vuelta a España, one of the most challenging stage cycling races, will start for the first time from Italy and Piedmont, passing through the Susa Valley.
The kilometer zero of the "Salida Oficial" is set in Turin, in front of the monument dedicated to Fausto Coppi, while the Susa Valley stage will be the fourth and final Italian stage. A 192km route starting from the historic center of Susa and passing through Exilles, Cesana, and Claviere, will take cyclists across the border, beyond the Alps, on August 26th.
For the occasion, the city of Susa will host "Notti in Rosso," three days of music, entertainment, and fun with open shops, street markets, and a mini train that will inaugurate the event. On August 26th, cyclists can expect the start in the Vuelta village, where there will also be a stand from the Unione Montana Valle Susa.
In anticipation of this exceptional sporting event, on Friday, August 22nd, starting at 6:00 PM, Councilor Giorgio Montabone will converse with Filippo Manfredi, author of the book "Alla conquista della Vuelta," in the Susa library. The initiative, promoted by the city of Susa in collaboration with the Valsusa Library System, aims to further enhance the significance of the Vuelta, an event that will further enhance the narrative of our region.
