Exhibition by Gromi in Avigliana

Sept. 17, 2026 - Sept. 20, 2026

Avigliana

Beppe Gromi's exhibition "Bestiary for the Third Millennium" is currently on display at the Galleria di Porta Ferrata.

Three years after "Spaesaggi e DisInKanti" (Spaces and DisInKanti) at the Santa Croce gallery, the new graphic story by Beppe Gromi, born in 1959, painter, playwright, director, and founder of the Fabula Rasa theater company, returns. It's a fantastical journey among mutant creatures, guided by a flow of black ink that pushes them to reveal their multiple identities.
"Bestiary" is a collection of 42 plates inhabited by multifaceted creatures that, at first glance, may appear as a child described them: "funny and slightly disturbing..."

All plates are drawn with a black Bic ballpoint pen, where the line inevitably evokes the suggestions and influences absorbed over time, fueled by a gaze always drawn to the fantastical and surreal, but also by the constant observation of our changes and the world inside and outside us.

Now that they're on paper, they're available to visitors, inviting them to distrust appearances and to extend their observation time. A healthy invitation to discover the many identities embedded in the "supporting" body of each creature. An opportunity to free one's gaze and discover the details that escape the first reading of an image; in fact, many of the characters are truly revealed only when they're turned upside down.

This installation features Fabio Domenico Russo with his metal wires, always ready to bend in the play of a gesture that transcends the paper.

Opening hours: until September 27, Thursday and Friday 4-7 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10 am-7 pm.
