Saturday, March 28, at 5:00 PM in Claviere at the Information Office, Via Nazionale 30, Mountains Tell Stories - Stories of Nature, Fortifications, and Alpine Landscapes, a lecture by Bruno Usseglio.
"Generations of local and state administrators, officials, residents, and tourists have contributed to reshaping the Alpine landscape over the centuries. Furthermore, the presence of imposing fortifications, built at different times, have in turn influenced interests that have influenced the use of local resources, in turn impacting the landscapes that open up in the highlands today. During the meeting, we will explore several stories that illustrate these interpretative lines: the first explorers who pioneered the race to the summit in the Cottian Alps, the role of fortifications, the use of a resource like the forest, the spaces and locations of certain abuses and deceits, and many others."
There will also be references to some publications such as "Boschi, Stato, Comunità e Fortificazioni", the author's latest research published by Alzani.
