For the "April 25 Celebrations" series, "I Ribelli della Montagna" THEATRE with Marianna Chilà, Caterina De Lucia, Luca Garnero, and Mattia Ricciardelli.
This is the story of two groups of young people:
On one side, those who, intoxicated by patriotism and individualism, chose to support the fascist party by applauding in the squares and taking up arms toward foreign borders, in the name of their own country's superiority; on the other side, those who, disillusioned by a rhetorical and dehumanizing power, chose to rebel against that party, demonstrating in the squares and taking up arms, not to point them at foreign lands, but at their own country, for justice and equality.
Two pairs of actors and a guitarist tell, with grotesque humor and cold realism, a story set over eighty years ago, yet inexorably bringing us back to the present, like the echo of an old song played somewhere in the mountains.
