Exhibition by Blaganò in Avigliana

April 17, 2026 - May 17, 2026

Avigliana

The works of Francesco Blaganò, a non-academic artist who has dedicated his life to figurative, material, and conceptual art, transforming simple materials like paper and glue into extraordinary works, will be on display at Certosa 1515 in Avigliana from April 17 to May 17. Francesco Blaganò's exhibition is spiritual in nature, but can be visited in a non-conformist way. It is possible to stay at Certosa 1515 and enjoy the exhibition, have lunch and enjoy the exhibition, or hike in the mountains and enjoy the exhibition. In short, an exhibition inserted into the context of a stay rather than a visit. The "site-specific" installation indicates that the artwork, installation, or performance is conceived and created specifically for a specific environment, whether internal or external. The work interacts with the surrounding space, adapting to it in terms of materials, dimensions, and historical-cultural context. However, the title "Side Specific" mimics this current exhibition format, since, rather than adapting to a specific location, the exhibition's theme concerns a specific way of being, or of positioning oneself.

The exhibition, held under the patronage of the City of Avigliana, the City of Giaveno, the Municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, the Unione montana Valle Susa, the Metropolitan City of Turin, and the Piedmont Region, addresses contemporary society, understood as the everyday world and the way we approach current events: appearance or substance. Hence the title "Side Specific," which poses the visitor a few questions: "Which side are you on? On a specific, well-defined side."
