On Friday, February 21 at 09:00 pm at the Palazzo delle Feste – foyer conference "The long shadow of Chaberton".
From its height of 3131 meters, the 515th Mount Chaberton Battery, considered “Invulnerable”, was a thorn in the side of the French Army General Staff for almost four decades.
On June 21, 1940, when put to the test, it highlighted the main design and organizational flaws and the obsolescence of a work no longer capable of competing on the changed battlefields.
The speakers will retrace the historical period between its construction and its destruction, with the passing of the baton to the more modern works of the Alpine Wall, together with the economic repercussions in the Turin area of the past projected towards the present.
With Mauro Minola, Ottavio Zetta and Fabrizio Coniglio.
Free entry.
