Buttigliera Alta is a municipality of around 7,000 inhabitants and is located near Avigliana.
Located in the heart of the lower Susa Valley, the town rises above 400 m. high above sea level
The town has a singular structure: it is divided into two parts, the hilly part towards the south and the northern part close to the Dora Riparia.
The origins of the village are linked to those of the Gauls and Celts who inhabited these areas around 600 BC.
San Marco, celebrated on April 25th, is the patron saint of Buttigliera Alta.

To visit:
Interesting to see are: the Lombard House, the Parish Church dedicated to the patron saint San Marco; the Torre della Bicocca and the Abbey of Sant'Antonio di Ranverso.
Of the abbey complex founded in the 12th century, all that remains are the church, part of the convent, one side of the cloister and the farmhouses.
