Parish church of San Desiderio

San Didero
church Historical parish churches

Via Frassinere, 10050 San Didero

The parish church of San Didero, probably built in the 13th-14th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, has a single nave structure with apse. The original walls show a Romanesque wall structure with single-lancet windows and a "lose" pitched roof. The façade is gabled, rebuilt in 1874 together with the hipped roof, rectangular windows, tympanum and cross. Subsequent interventions included the restoration of the interior, the remanufacturing of the facade and the "lose" roof. The church is a point of reference for the village of San Didero, dominating it from above.
