Sestriere

The Metropolitan City of Turin's exhibition celebrating the anniversary of the first women's vote, "Turin 1946 - 2026: 80 Years of Women's Votes," has attracted great interest throughout the region. With the arrival of August, a long series of events begins, spanning various areas: more than 30 locations have already been created in various municipalities, both small and very small, which are using the exhibition to spark reflection in local communities on rights often taken for granted.

After the final stops in Varisella, Pertusio, and Montaldo Torinese, the exhibition reaches the heights of Sestriere.

From Friday, July 31st to Friday, August 14th, the exhibition will be held at Casa Olimpia, home to the Municipal Library.

The building, formerly the Roadhouse of the Province of Turin, renovated for the 2006 Olympic Games and recently restored by the Metropolitan City of Turin, today represents a vibrant cultural hub for the area.

The exhibition will be open during library opening hours (Monday 2:30–6:30 PM; Wednesday and Saturday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM; Friday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM), offering residents and tourists an opportunity to explore the history and values of our democracy.

Designed to be itinerant and adaptable to different spaces, the exhibition consists of 12 lightweight, ready-to-hang Forex panels and a roll-up presentation. The documentary value of the exhibition was made possible by the invaluable work of Franco Senestro, custodian and owner of the "La Bottega del Ciabattino" archive.

The story of these photographs is a tale of passion and intuition that begins in 1983, during the liquidation of the historic editorial office of the Gazzetta del Popolo on Corso Valdocco in Turin.
