Three days of history and challenge, a medieval weekend that kicks off on Friday evening with a thrilling performance of rhythmic and choreographed performances by the Borghi drummers in Piazza San Giusto.
The atmosphere becomes even more exciting on Saturday evening with the majestic historical procession through the city streets towards the Roman Arena; here, after the swearing-in of the Borgo Capi, the great medieval spectacle in honor of Countess Adelaide unfolds.
Sunday begins in the morning with the parade and solemn blessing of the Palio in the Cathedral; in the afternoon, the grand finale once again ignites the Roman Arena, where the six Borghi vie for victory in thrilling traditional archery, Saracen joust, and tug-of-war competitions.
At the end of the challenges, the winning Borgo wins and takes home the coveted Palio, the banner that seals the city's triumph and glory for the entire year.
