Friday, March 27, at 5:00 PM in Oulx, at Casa Mistral (Piazza Federico Mistral 7), screening of the French-language film "Une soupe aux herbes sauvages."
A story of civil resistance conducted under the motto "Des moutons pas de camions" (Out of mountains, not trucks) and beautifully told in a book entitled "Une soupe aux herbes sauvages" (Out of trucks). Author Emilie Carles, an elderly but very active teacher from Val de Près, is the true heroine of this story. In addition to fighting for the present, she sparked a discussion on future prospects: on one side, the proponents of the Serre Chevalier model (the supporters of the highway), and on the other, the advocates of a gentle model, compatible with the valley's still-well-preserved environment. Given the circumstances, the latter's arguments prevailed. From that moment, the Clarée began its second life. Thanks in part to the symbolic nature of the event, the valley has become a social and economic phenomenon, a model of compatibility between social and environmental needs, investigated and described by many journalists, including correspondents from specialized publications and beyond.
