A new event for the 2025–2026 season at the Chiusa di San Michele Planetarium! On Sunday, February 8th, meet one of the most controversial figures in 19th-century science: Richard Owen.
He coined the term "dinosaur," paving the way for studies on large prehistoric reptiles. He was also the mastermind behind the creation of one of the most important natural science museums in the world: the Natural History Museum in London.
But Owen was also much more:
shadows as thick as his lights, accusations of intellectual "robbery," boundless ambitions, and rivalries that became almost legendary. A man capable of profoundly impacting science... for better or for worse.
Double appointment at 4 pm and 6 pm.
