On Thursday, January 22 at 10:30 am Val di Storie: The Anselmo glacier is warm, a show recommended for ages 8 to 12.
"The Anselmo Glacier is Hot" is a fun yet emotional play on the burning issue of glacial extinction, and the word "hot" is a fitting description of an increasingly overheating environment. The two performers are at the Albergo Rifugio high in the mountains, near the disappearing Anselmo Glacier. In the play, they are folding white sheets hung out to dry. The sheets are a metaphor for the disappearing glacier. The two become expert communicators, snowflakes, ice cubes, nature defenders, and mountain lovers, trying to explain what is happening in the glacial world. Above all, they would like the unknown "up there" to become the spectators' "down here." Because knowledge bridges distances, and what is far away becomes close. And everything in nature is "networked" with everything else. The glacier, seemingly immobile, is actually in motion. Sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. Like every natural being, it is alive. It has a sound, its rhythm dictated by the seasons.
It is beautiful, but at the same time it can be frightening because we don't know it, we often ignore its role on the planet.
Will we be sensitive enough to listen to the sound of the moving glacier?
Cost: €5.00 per participant + free admission for teachers.
