Published in 2008 on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the placing of the
Bonifacio Roero Triptych on the peak of Rocciamelone, the volume
represents one of the most in-depth tools for understanding the
history of the devotion and Marian worship celebrated on the peak of
Rocciamelone. After an initial introduction dedicated to the theme of the sacred mountain,
a detailed historical and artistic examination of the Bonifacio Triptych follows,
a reconstruction of the events surrounding the Roero family from Asti
and their relationship with the Susa Valley, and a
narrative of the development of Marian devotion celebrated on the peak
from the Middle Ages to the present day, with unpublished pages drawn from the documents.
