Mostra sul voto alle donne a Sant'Antonino di Susa

June 30, 2026 - July 4, 2026

Sant'Antonino di Susa

"Turin 1946 - 2026: 80 Years of the Women's Vote," the Metropolitan City of Turin exhibition celebrating the eightieth anniversary of the first women's vote, continues to grow and enjoys continued success. With the arrival of July, a long series of events will unfold throughout the region throughout the summer.

Created to celebrate the approaching eightieth anniversary of the institutional referendum and the first women's political vote on June 2, 1946, the exhibition has already traveled to over 30 municipalities, a route that has even been duplicated to accommodate the overwhelming number of requests received from local governments.

The exhibition, hosted until Sunday, July 5, at the Villastellone Town Hall (Via Cossolo 32), will also travel to the Susa Valley with a stop in Sant'Antonino di Susa. The official inauguration, scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st, at 6:30 pm, will be attended by Mayor Andrea Andolfatto and Deputy Mayor Jacopo Suppo.

With this new event, the exhibition launches into the summer season: starting in July, a long and busy series of events will bring the twelve exhibition panels to numerous other locations throughout the metropolitan area, ensuring a widespread presence throughout the summer.

The exhibition not only recounts a fundamental political act, but a true social revolution. The period images come from Franco Senestro's "La Bottega del Ciabattino" archive, a precious treasure trove of negatives saved from the closure of the historic newspaper Gazzetta del Popolo. The faces, the enthusiasm, and the lines at the polls convey the emotion of a momentous moment when Italian women finally exercised their right to vote, writing a fundamental page in our democratic history.
