A USAAF B-17, departing from Algeria, flies through the Piedmont mountains, headed for the Pesio Valley, loaded with supplies for the partisans. It veers off course and crashes on the slopes
of Gran Mioul at about 2,900 meters above sea level, in the Argentera Valley:
it was Miss Charlotte.
