Susa-Moncenisio

Oct. 18, 2025 - Oct. 19, 2025

Susa

On Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, the Susa-Moncenisio returns — the world’s oldest automobile race, valid for the First Zone Italian Slalom Cup and sponsored by the Metropolitan City of Turin. First held in 1902, the Susa-Moncenisio has written memorable chapters in the history of Italian motor racing. This year, the event returns once again in its autumn edition and will feature an exciting show by the best drivers of the specialty, competing along the 4 km route on State Road 25 toward Moncenisio. The drivers will retrace the initial section of the historic 22.5 km original course, which started in Susa, passed through the village of Giaglione, and reached Lake Moncenisio, now located in French territory. Since its revival in 1986, great champions such as Mauro Nesti, Pasquale Irlando, Ezio Baribbi, and Giuseppe Tambone have inscribed their names in the event’s roll of honor, whose very first winner was Vincenzo Lancia, 123 years ago. In last year’s edition, victory went to Alessandro Polini, recent winner of the Garessio-San Bernardo race.

The 2025 edition will mark a new partnership between the car race and the sports complex Legends Arena, created in Susa thanks to the initiative of prominent international sports figures such as former Juventus footballer David Trezeguet. The race management, sports and technical inspections, and the award ceremony will take place in the new facility at Corso Couvert 31, where the large available spaces will allow for a more efficient and centralized organization of all Susa-Moncenisio services — a prelude to a three-year program aimed at restoring the race to its former glory.
