La storia dell'ascensore a Rubiana

July 10, 2026 - July 10, 2026

Rubiana

Friday, July 10th at 9:00 PM, a conference at the Dino Campana Library: the history of the elevator, the invention that changed our cities!

We ride in them every day, often absentmindedly, waiting for the doors to open. But have you ever wondered what the world would be like without the elevator? Simply put... cities as we know them today wouldn't exist! Skyscrapers would be meaningless, and modern architecture would never have been born.

The elevator's history is extraordinary, one of ingenuity, defiance of gravity, and unexpected safety twists. Did you know that rudimentary elevators operated by humans or animals existed in ancient times? And that the true revolution began in the mid-19th century thanks to an invention that took away everyone's... fear of falling?

A fascinating journey through technology, architecture, and customs, to discover how a "moving box" has revolutionized our way of living and conceiving the space of the urban skyline.

When: Friday, July 10, 9:00 PM
Where: Dino Campana Library
Speaker: Gabriella Venturino
