The days, organized thanks to the collaboration between the Magnetto Foundation, the ASL TO3 local health authority, municipal administrations, and local associations, aim to prevent the onset of stroke while promoting individual and collective health and well-being.
Citizens over 50 residing in the participating municipalities will have free access to a lifestyle assessment and basic medical checkups, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and capillary cholesterol measurements. After the screenings, those with abnormal values will be able to discuss the situation with the attending doctors.
The initiatives will be attended by ASL nurses, nursing students, doctors, and dieticians. The days are also held in collaboration with the Neurology and Cardiology Departments of Rivoli Hospital: a neurologist will perform a preliminary carotid ultrasound assessment, while a cardiologist will perform electrocardiograms on residents with high risk factors. If any evidence of vascular disease is found, patients will be referred to Rivoli Hospital for further diagnostic testing, including a complete carotid ultrasound.
