San Giorio di Susa

San Giorio di Susa is preparing to experience one of the most intense and defining moments in its community history with the return of the Patronal Feast of San Giorgio Martire, scheduled from April 11th to May 8th, culminating on Sunday, April 26th.
A packed calendar of events will take residents and visitors on a journey through tradition, culture, and collective memory, with events spread throughout the area and designed for all audiences.
The heart of the celebrations will be the 97th historical-legendary reenactment of the Suppression of the Feudatario, one of the most significant events in the Susa Valley, combining spectacle, history, and popular participation. A collective ritual that, since 1929, has recounted the courage of an entire village and the value of freedom.
The day of April 26th will open with the procession and Holy Mass in honor of San Giorgio Martire, continuing with the evocative moment of the Spadonari and the traditional sword dance, an ancient symbol of identity and belonging. In the afternoon, the parade of participants, the
participation of the Countess Adelaide of Susa Historical Group, and the eagerly awaited reenactment will enliven the medieval castle, bringing to life a legendary page in local history, culminating in the final procession in Piazza Micellone.

The initiatives
