But above all, I must accept the terrifying grandeur, the stimulating possibilities, and the tremendous limitations.”
Sergio Saccomandi was born in Turin in 1946.
He graduated from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, a student of Paulucci and Calandri. He previously held the Chair of Painting at the Turin Art School.
Since 1981, he has been inventing his life in the Canavese hills of Barbania. Since 1968, he has held 60 solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, earning numerous awards and recognition.
He recently received the 2nd European Prize from the Tadini Academy in Lovere.
Engraver, painter, and set designer, he works primarily with etching, aquatint, drypoint, and soft ground techniques.
His works typically depict still lifes, landscapes, and animals.
He has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions and events dedicated to graphic design.
Exhibition opening Saturday, March 21st at 4:00 PM.
Saturday, April 4th at 4:00 PM: Meet and Greet with the artist "Six Authors in Search of a Character." Theatrical performance featuring six monologues performed by the artist.
